Sinter B is a high purity dead-burned magnesium oxide, having a quality appearance of a white, gritless, free-flowing powder. It is produced by selection of special raw materials and controlled sintering and post processing, to achieve, large MgO crystal size, low iron content, specific SiO2/CaO ratio and controlled grain size.

Main Uses & Advantages

A mineral insulated cable is a special type of electrical cable consisting of solid copper conductors placed inside a copper tube using magnesium oxide powder as a filler. Since no polymeric materials are used in these cables - except as external sheathing - they are especially suitable for critical fire protection applications such as alarm circuits, fire pumps, and smoke control systems.

Sinter B powder is especially suitable as mineral insulation filler. Its high grain bulk density and chemical composition ensure that it will remain physically and chemically stable at high temperatures. Its controlled total low iron content ensures very high resistance to the conduction of electricity and very low magnetic iron levels. Comprehensive and thorough electrical insulation testing is implemented for every production batch to ensure compliance of the end-product according to high standards.

Sinter B powder is especially designed to have a particular internal grain size distribution with a strict top-cut to ensure adequate flowability, ease of extrusion and high green and sintered strength of the insulation.

Packaging & Storage

Sinter B is available: In big bags with or without bottom spout on pallets (optional). In 25kg polyethylene-lined, multiwalled bags, stretch wrapped on pallets.

Sinter B has a shelf life of 12 months provided that the product is stored in a clean dry storage area under proper conditions. Magnesium oxide absorbs moisture from the air and forms lumps. Always re-seal partly used bags.
