Educational Visit by the University of Western Macedonia to Grecian Magnesite’s Yerakini mining complex

Grecian Magnesite had the pleasure of hosting students and faculty from the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia for an educational field visit to its mining and processing facilities in Yerakini, Chalkidiki.

During the visit, participants were guided through the entire magnesite production process, from mining and beneficiation to calcination and final product handling. The group also had the opportunity to learn more about the company’s environmental restoration practices and overall commitment to sustainability.

We truly appreciated the students’ energy, curiosity, and insightful questions throughout the visit. It’s always a pleasure to support the next generation of mineral engineers and share real-world knowledge beyond the classroom.
