FertilMag®

FertilMag

FertilMag® is a white, free-flowing, reactive magnesium oxide product, specially developed for use in the fertilizer/plant nutrition industry.

FertilMag® is produced by careful beneficiation, calcination and sizing steps, to ensure consistency and reliability of the product's properties.

Main Uses & Advantages

FertilMag® can be used for a wide variety of fertilizer applications, either as an Mg source in the production of multi-nutrient fertilizers or directly, as a low Mg release fertilizer (special 1.6-5.0 mm grade version).  It is also suitable for soil amendment applications, such as removal of excess acidity and remediation of heavy metal contaminated soils.

FertilMag® is available in various grain size fractions or ground (powder).

Packaging & Storage

FertilMag® is available: in bulk (only for granular material). In big bags, with or without bottom spout. In 25 kg paper bags on pallets, wrapped up with plastic film (only for ground material)

FertilMag® has a shelf life of 12 months provided that the product is stored in a clean dry storage area and is protected from moisture with PE-foil. Magnesium oxide absorbs moisture from the air and forms lumps. Always re-seal partly used pallets and single bags with PE-foil.

Plant Nutrition

Magnesium is an essential element for plant growth, as the central core of the chlorophyll molecule in plant tissue. If a plant is Mg deficient, the shortage of chlorophyll results in poor and stunted plant growth. Magnesium also helps to activate specific enzyme systems. Enzymes are complex substances that build, modify, or break down compounds as part of a plant's normal metabolism.
